Corner Bakery & Cafe: Not Just Your Average Cupcake - This review is for the bakery only. This little bakery, with pristine white walls and creative holiday-centric decorations streaming from the ceiling, is a neighborhood (3rd Avenue at 93rd) hotspot. It’s an excellent place to have a cup of coffee or tea and do your neighborhood people-watching. The baked goods are among the most expensive found on the UES and perhaps all of Manhattan, and most of them are worth it. Where else can you find icing-topped cheese danishes, espresso cake (again, with icing), and other goodies such as pineapple upside down cake? If you need an entire cake, you can find it here. The pies here are a miss, but the aforementioned goodies and the scones stand out. The bakery also serves soft-serve yogurt and sells holiday candies.
