We stopped in to the Bar at Etats Unis (French for "The United States") last Thursday night for a drink. I had heard the place was small, but was not ready for how small it actually is.
Probably no more than 500 square feet, this tiny space manages to deliver a pleasant experience if you're looking to relax with a friend or small group and grab a bite to eat during happy hour into the early evening.
Offering daily suggestions of drink specials and wine specials, this tiny gem also offers some delicious appetizers and entrees too. I had trouble imagining where the food was prepared ... there is no kitchen, and very little space behind the bar.
Jeff and his sidekick, however, do an amazing job creating the freshest food you'll find anywhere. I was about to leave after two $14 glasses of Cabernet, but was convinced by a regular to stay for dinner. We took him up on his suggestion and had a cheese plate and the ribs ... which were outstanding! The service is great too.
Go early and be prepared to wait, however, if you have a large group. If you can get a seat with a large group, you'll have a great time in this quaint setting where everyone is cordial and seemingly positive.
