Perfectly Polished Nail Salon - Deserves 3.5 stars. Jin Soon is far more sophisticated than the average nail salon. The sparse white walls and wooden accents add to the spotless atmosphere. Elegant individual modern lamps hang over each manicure station. The flow of the salon is a bit strange, however. The pathway leading from the downstairs manicure section up the stairs to the pedicure section is awkwardly narrow. Still, the salon offers one of the best selections of nail polishes on the UES, including Chanel and shellac (around $45), the nail polish that lasts for up to a few weeks. The polish is expertly applied by courteous nail technicians in a quiet setting with music softly playing. The top selections and service come at a price: a manicure with tax runs around $18. Though the nail application is flawless, the wait can be half an hour even if you have the requisite appointment and the salon workers can forget to offer you tea.
