Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House offers classrooms, senior centers, a homeless shelter, a pool and fitness center, a computer lab, and more. They are dedicated to helping those in need who live, work, or go to school on Manhattan's East Side, primarily the Upper East Side, and to improving the quality of life for all individuals and families in its community. The Neighborhood House defines need broadly to include economic, social, emotional, and physical need, but gives priority to those in economic need. The House's objective is to help people gain the skills to strengthen themselves and their community.

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House was founded by the Associate Alumnae of Normal College (now Hunter College) in 1894. Each year, the House serves over 20,000 people of different generations, cultures, means, and ethnic groups who live, work, or attend school on Manhattan's East Side - children, teens, single parents, home-bound older adults and homeless people, among others. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is the oldest and largest social services agency on the Upper East Side.
