Wine Specials
Robert Michele Muscadet Sevre Et Maine - (750ml) $7.99 - This pleasant light, uncomplicated wine comes from the Loire Valley. It is early maturing, soft and pleasant ; goes well with fish, veal and poultry.
Secret de Campane 2006 - (750ml) $8.99 - This wine is a blend of 60% Grenache complimented by 30 % Old Carrignan and 10% cinsault. Its name comes from the many Campaniles overlooking our Provence villages since the 12th century.
Francis Coppola Claret 2005 (Cabernet Sauvignon) - *Special Price is while supplies last. (750ml) $12.99 - Coppola Claret is a Cabernet Sauvignon Grape based wine. The fruit is grown in distinctive regions throughout California. This results in a more complex wine with great balance.
Eskadale Vineyards The Winner's Tank Shiraz 06 - *91 Points Robert Parker (750ml) $14.99 - It spent 9 months in tank with French oak staves. Purple-colored, it has a wonderfully expressive perfume of plum, black cherry, and blueberry compote. This leads to a full-bodied, seamless, rich wine with a long, pure finish.
Pillar Box Red 2006 - *91 Points Robert Parker (750ml) $11.99 - The 2006 Pillar Box Red is 50% Shiraz, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Merlot aged in a mix of used French and American oak. Full-bodied, ripe, and layered with flavor, this wine totally over-delivers on my hedonist’s meter. Drink this awesome value over the next 2-3 years.
Spirits Specials
John Jameson Irish Whiskey - *While Supplies Last - (liter) $28.99 (750ml) $22.99 - Jameson Irish whiskey is produced from a mixture of malted and unmalted Irish barley. The barley is dried in a closed kiln fired by clean-burning coal to preserve its clean malty flavours. Like most Irish whiskey, Jameson is triple distilled.
Gran Centenario Plata - (750ml) $29.99 - Rested in French oak barrels for 28 days & characterized by a fresh, clean & sweet taste with aromas of lime, citrus, apple & melon, as well as earthy tones, a slightly peppery spiciness, and distinct Agave aroma.
Mae De Ouro Cachaca - (750ml) $24.99 - Ultra Premium Cachaca
Most cachaças are pretty much only fit to make into caipirinhas because of their aggressive flavor, but we could see ourselves drinking Mãe de Ouro on the rocks with nothing more than a twist of lime…. Of course, caipirinhas are the drink that define the liquor, so we had to mix up a couple batches. We made some with Mae de Ouro and some with a competing brand, and our reviewers chose the Mae de Ouro across the board due to the great aroma, lack of overpowering sweetness and overall clean taste.
Sake & Shochu Specials
Mizunoshirabe Ginjo Sake - (720ml) $20.99 - The rice is polished more than 40%. The name means ''Melody of Water'' and this sake lives up to its name. This is a lovely sake with hints of citrus that leaves a refreshing feeling. Goes well with light dishes such as salads, fish and white meats.
Ginza No Suzume Shochu - White Label (720ml) $14.99 - A very easy everyday shochu made from barley. Vibrant with clean and grainy flavor that can best be enjoyed chilled, on the rocks, or mixed in cocktails.
They're Baaaack!
Yangarra Shiraz 06 - (750ml) $19.99 - "Our vineyard is in the coolest parts of mclaren vale, giving our low yields times to slowly accumulate concentrated powerful flavours of blackberry and plums, with hints of spice. The open fermenters and wild yeast allow maximum extraction and complexity with soft silky tannins." -Winery
Bitch Grenache 2006 - (750ml) $10.99 - Color: Ruby, translucent. Aromas: Raspberry, cherry and chocolate and a hint of spice. On the tongue, the wine feels warm without being heavy, despite the hefty 14.7% alcohol, and is dry without being drying. The lush fruit and chocolate flavors finish very smoothly. This one is easy without being uninteresting.
Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 - (750ml) $17.99 -
Our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is a mix of diverse vineyard sites throughout California; a combination of fruit that produces an elegant, structured and delicious profile – a wine that we enjoy drinking.
What's HOT!
Cabernet Sauvignon is hot! After being pushed to the side by other varietals such as Pinot Noir. This hearty red seems to be making a strong comeback.
Vanilla Vodka is hot!. For some strange reason Vanilla vodka is huge, recently outselling more traditional flavors such as citrus and orange. Could be a main ingredient in the next cocktail craze this summer.
