Monday Night on the Upper East Side was filled with football chants and songs, albeit off-key. While the weather may be getting a bit cold outside, the bars are just warming up. The UpperEast.com girls added a bit of scorch and sizzle to a Monday night on 2nd Avenue.
Monday Night Football at Bounce
The epitome of a sports bar with panache, our night at Bounce was exciting. While the Bears barely beat a competitive Arizona Cardinals team, Monday night football kept everyone entertained. With 2 foot long beer bongs and wings on many tables, guys routed for their team and took pictures with our UpperEast.com girls between QB sacks and flavorful snacks.
After we tired on football, the UpperEast.com crew headed a few blocks up 2nd Avenue to Iggy's Karaoke. We sang our lungs out (poorly) to a terrible rendition of Cindy Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun while more in tune and attuned regulars serenaded the crowds with Frank Sinatra Hits and Kelly Clarkson favorites. A fun place to spend a Monday night, Iggy's got packed as the night progressed.
Monday Night Karaoke at Mustang
We hadn't tired our vocal cords so we headed over to Mustang Grill to partake in their Monday night Karaoke featured event. A group of crooners regaled us with their rendition of Britney Spears and made us feel better about our earlier performance. It's not about how well you sing, but how much fun you have while doing it.
Whoah! We walked into a jam packed American Trash. The music was thumping, the beer was flowing and we were having sensory overload from the loud and colorful schematics of the décor. Old licenses plates, beer posters, stolen street signs covered the walls and ceiling creating a very roadside biker bar appeal and effect. We picked up a game of pool with some the winning Dodge Ball team who had just finished their game a few blocks away. “This is our after game clubhouse,” one told us. “But make sure you keep that a secret.” We promised – our fingers were crossed though. Starving we ordered from the themed menu. Really “American Trash” type of fare which is perfect for bar food. Our quesadillas and chicken sandwich hit but we left room for some of the beer on tap but for we left for our final stop of the night.
Thursday Night at Stir
A DJ spun a mix of hip hop and dance in the back of Stir as we entered the lively atmosphere. A group which had congregated around the bar was eager to ask us about our “I Love UpperEast.com” T-shirts. We proudly told them all of the exciting things on UpperEast.com. With our sophisticated martinis in hand we danced on the makeshift dance floor until I heels wore thin and our energy wore out.
