Inase: Standout Sushi and Service

Overall:

 - This could possibly be the best sushi stop on the Upper East Side. After a few internet searches for the best sushi on the Upper East Side, I decided to try Inase. Although the restaurant has been surprisingly empty on the occasions I have been there, the lack of customers certainly does not speak for the quality of the restaurant. Both the food and service are excellent. Each piece of sushi is fresh and expertly prepared. The fatty toro was especially buttery and smooth tasting. There are specialties not offered on the menu that are worth trying. I recommend sitting at the bar so you can speak with the chef/owner and allow him to make suggestions. The only downside to dining at Inase is that the sake, at approximately $60 a bottle, is quite expensive, but at least the server is kind enough to keep your sake cup refilled. The server remembered me on return visits and she and the owner seemed genuinely happy to see me. Inase Sushi
