- In the midst of a profusion of moderately formal restaurants, Luke's relaxed atmosphere is refreshing with wooden plank floors, a shingled wall, and wooden tables. The relaxing atmosphere is enhanced by the feel good music selection with picks ranging from Otis Redding to Counting Crows. Even Luke's service is genuinely friendly. Of course, the lobster roll is the star of the show at Luke's, and with good reason; it was declared NYC's best lobster roll. Thick chunks of lobster smothered with mayo and sprinkled with secret spices are encased by a buttery, perfectly toasted roll. Crab and shrimp rolls, crab claws, clam chowder, lobster bisque, spicy crab and sweet potato bisque are also on the menu. Luke's has a unique selection of Maine microbrews. One Girl Whoopie pies and Gifford's ice cream round out the menu for dessert. With seating for only 20, scoring a seat is a matter of timing and luck at this establishment, voted Best Maine Ambassador Outside of Maine by Down East Magazine.
