What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A nurse practitioner is a Master’s Degree educated nurse, who is licensed to diagnose and treat illnesses. A nurse practitioner is able to prescribe medications, if needed. A nurse practitioner in psychiatry is able to provide psychotherapy as well as medications. Nurse practitioners have also had rigorous training and education and require Board Certification.
Why choose a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners have the reputation of being more caring, personal, and thorough than medical doctors, since they have been trained as nurses. Nurse Practitioners spend quality time listening to your concerns, and work with you to achieve and maintain good health through education and support. Ms. Singh’s training in both medicine and psychiatry makes her uniquely qualified to treat you as a whole person, with feelings and thoughts that interfere with physical health, and vice versa.
