The Art Farm

WELCOME

We are an Eco-Friendly and Organic facility which teaches your children about nature, animals and how to better care for our planet. We also teach your children about responsibility through caring, loving and being in the company of animals. On our magical, USDA licensed, indoor petting zoo has a wide variety of animals including bunnies, chinchillas, guinea pigs, lizards, turtles, birds, tropical fish and more. You might even spot pigs, chickens, goats and sheep sometime!

One of the unique features, and a special part of our programs, is our desire to share and our belief in the importance of giving back and showing compassion. Whether you join camp, preschool, take classes, book a party or buy a toy, you help a child in need. We donate a percentage of the annual Art Farm in the City profits to Mari’s Children, our non-profit organization, which helps children all over the world. One of our foundations of the Art Farm is “Paying it Forward”, would you like to help us do that?

ABOUT US

In the summer of 1999, Valentina Van Hise met Mari Linnman, the founder of The Art Farm in the Hamptons, when she came to work there as a toddler music teacher. Valentina brought with her a bachelor’s degree in music education and her unique talents as a music teacher.

In 2002, Mari and Valentina decided to open The Art Farm in the City, on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. For the past seven years, Valentina has been the Director and works along with Mari to create innovative new programs. Initially The Art Farm in the City began offering only Mommy and Me classes and birthday parties but now the program has expanded to a preschool, a gentle separation playgroup, summer camp, after school classes and drop-in playtimes and open houses for children ages 6 months to 8 years.

Mari and Valentina are proud mothers of their children and enjoy working in a child friendly environment.
