Tribeca Parenting

Tribeca Parenting is NYC’s most comprehensive pregnancy, childbirth, and new parent education center. The center focuses on high-quality, supportive information for expectant and new parents to guide them through a healthy, positive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

Tribeca Parenting has great classrooms all over the city; the Upper East Side Center at 62nd Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue is our headquarters. Additional convenient locations are in Chelsea, Tribeca, Williamsburg, and Park Slope.

Tribeca Parenting’s Managing Director is Emily Cohen, who has a background in teaching and reproductive rights. Tribeca Parenting’s teaching philosophy is under the consulting direction of Erica Lyon, Author of The Big Book of Birth and former Founder of Realbirth. Tribeca Parenting's teaching staff consists of Registered Nurses, Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants, Certified Nurse Midwives, doctors, health educators and published authors in the pregnancy and parenting field. More importantly, all our staff has extensive teaching experience, making the classroom environment lively, supportive and informative.

Classes for the expectant couple include Expecting Reassurance, a positive pregnancy overview, weekly Moms-to-Be Groups, Preparation for Childbirth tailored to the mother's needs and goals, Breastfeeding Preparation and Essential Baby Care. Infant and Child CPR and Safety classes and postpartum help such as Breastfeeding Support Clinics and postpartum depression resources are an invaluable resource to the new mother. New parent classes include Sleep Routines and How to say NO with Backbone and Love as well as other parenting resources. All of our classes help to foster a community of expectant and new parent peers. Our education philosophy stems from evidence-based care in addition to emotional support of the whole family.
